Arrr! I just found a treasure map! Let’s go on a hunt. What can we find? Gold? Jewels? Booty? No, not us. We are looking for examples of rhetoric. Aye matey.

1. Anaphora: Is anyone of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is anypne of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him..
James 4: 13-14 (Bible)

2. Metaphor: Waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought. A Cinderella Story

3. Anaphora: Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-5 (Bible)

4. Antimetabole: Love the life you live, live the life you love. Bob Marley

5. Allusion: Little league in ‘93 taught me how to take defeat good thing there’s no mercy rule in love ’cause I would long be beat. “Touchdown Tournaround” by Hellogoodbye

Well X marks the spot. We found the treasure. It was easier than we thought. All along it was right under our eye patches! Yo-ho-ho! Arrr!
